Electronic Voting in California AB-2159

 The California Governor signed Assembly Bill (AB) 2159, common interest developments: procedures:  Approved by Governor  September 22, 2024. Filed with Secretary of State  September 22, 2024.

This bill is effective January 1, 2025.

Assembly Bill (AB) 648 MEETINGS AND TELECONFERENCES

 The California Governor signed Assembly Bill (AB) 648, common interest developments: procedures: meetings by teleconference.   This bill is effective January 1, 2024.

Assembly Bill (AB) AB 1458 SECOND ATTEMPT QUORUM REDUCTION

 AB 1458 (Ta) regarding member elections was also signed on October 4, 2023. In the absence of a quorum, this bill authorizes common interest developments to adjourn a membership meeting and reduce the quorum to 20% at the second attempt.  This bill is effective January 1, 2024.

AB 3182 Information

RENTAL RESTRICTIONS AND YOUR HOA/CID

Assembly Bill No. 3182 and the amendment to add Section 4741 to the Civil Code (and to amend Section 65852.2 of the Government Code) is something we should all be taking a very careful look at to make sure each of our HOA/CID's are in compliance.
